The prints are based on an original watercolor & archival ink painting measuring 22x22 inches, completed in 2023

The Carpenter Theatre was originally built as a Loew’s movie palace and opened in April of 1928. It was designed by New York architect John Eberson in a Moorish & Spanish Revival style with a six-story corner tower decorated with colorful terracotta, finials, pilasters, and diamond shaped tiles. This painting celebrates the historic architecture and the important role the building plays in the Richmond performing arts scene today.
